Grant Writing 101

Grant Writing 101 is a 4-hour training, delivered live or virtually, that equips participants with the basic skills required to identify grant prospects, craft a successful grant proposal and budget, and steward funding relationships.

Based on Sarah’s 25 years of grant writing experience, participants gain deep insight into what funders are really looking for—whether government, foundation, or corporate sources.

Templates and exercises include:

  • A grant content database

  • Using data to make the case for your request

  • Establishing effective evaluation goals and measures

  • Understanding project, operating, capacity-building and capital budgets

Grant Writing 101 can be customized to your local funding landscape. This training is ideal for groups of nonprofits in the same city, county, or region.

Build Their Capacity Today

Previous clients include national affiliate organizations and county children and family agencies. This training is also ideal for foundations or intermediary organizations that want to build the capacity of a number of grantees or member organizations to write effective grants. Testimonial

“Thank you so much for the workshop and for sharing the handouts and slides. This was actually the third grant writing workshop I’ve attended, but I must say, this has been the most informative and engaging by far. The content was practical, the presentation was clear, and the space felt welcoming for both new and experienced participants. If this opportunity is offered again in the future, I will definitely encourage my peers to attend.”
